I was an Elder in UO. We created short quests while Seers were responsible for rendering larger storyline quests. Seers weren't really allowed to venture off script and do things but Elders were encouraged to. We Elders had insane powers. We could appear anywhere in the world at anytime, walk around invisible indefinitely and into players locked dwellings. We were able to color and rename items. And make serpents and spiders appear in mass and in the middle of town by waving a beast making wand. This was actually encouraged under the Britain is under the plaque storyline.
